Controversial Essay Topics for the Class of 2020

Controversial Essay Topics for the Class of 2020If you want to write a provocative, even controversial essay, you have a lot of choices this year. Here are a few topic areas to help you get started on the right foot with a topic that is not only widely discussed, but is a hot button issue in some circles.Campus issues like protests, student suicides, school shootings, or race relations; these topics are much more prevalent on the liberal school district than on the conservative district. Consider a situation where an individual has lost their life for speaking out about something they believe in, or just for the sake of being a black sheep in their own society. When there is a group who supports them, they are not viewed as heroes or martyrs. Instead, it is seen as a setback in the progress of the society in general.Another interesting topic is when children in general go off to college. Students who are well behaved and who can contribute in an intellectual way to the environment ar e not always rewarded with a place in the school. This means that the students may have bad grades or get expelled. Many students feel they are given a worse standard of education as a result.Another hot topic in today's world is global warming and how to combat it in an American city. You have children who are afraid to talk about this topic with their parents because they may be labeled as eco-terrorists or free-thinkers. There are also teens who are concerned about their futures because of environmental issues, and being labeled as a person who is anti-environmental is not going to help their career prospects.Immigration and the changing demographics of a country are another one of the controversial essay topics for this year. It is a fact that immigration is a topic many people are passionate about. However, it is not always easy to stay silent when people take advantage of others. It is important to voice your opinions about these issues.Even before political correctness was in vented, the issue of the infamous 'fairness doctrine' or by 'Tragedy of the Commons' was a huge debate. Basically, this concept states that there is an equal distribution of natural resources in a community and if all resources are used up, there will be limited resources left over. Thus, individuals must share resources with one another. For example, if the neighbors use all of the land, water, and electrical power, no one would survive. These topics are just a few of the many topics you can choose from when writing your controversial essay topics. Some others include; the death penalty, racism, Israel/Palestine, nuclear proliferation, poverty, or privacy issues. Again, whatever the topic, you should research and find out what is going on in your community. The reason I mentioned these topics is because I want you to be prepared. Yes, you want to be on the front page of the paper, but it is important to be controversial and have a true opinion about your subject matter. Think on your writing ideas, so you don't forget any of them.
